'Tis the gift to be simple, 'tis the gift to be free,
'Tis the gift to come down where you ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gain'd,
To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd,
To turn, turn will be our delight,
'Tis the gift to come down where you ought to be,
And when we find ourselves in the place just right,
'Twill be in the valley of love and delight.
When true simplicity is gain'd,
To bow and to bend we shan't be asham'd,
To turn, turn will be our delight,
Till by turning, turning we come round right.
Listening to YoYoMa, Itzhak Pearlman and the other musicians perform the arrangement of this Shaker hymn was so touching/moving for me this morning. Ella was dancing around the room, clapping when the camera showed people celebrating, waving her arms when they showed the crowd waving flags, and saying, "Where'd Obama go?" when they panned away from his face. What a gift to live in America and witness this historical day. I am feeling hopeful for our children's future and that they will all "come round right."
